Alex Dryden

I am an economist currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at SOAS, University of London focusing on sovereign defaults and natural defaults. I am also a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Sustainable Finance. With over a decade of experience as a Global Investment Strategist for J.P Morgan Asset Management, I have a wealth of knowledge on financial markets and investment strategy.

After initially starting in London, I later relocated to New York for three years, where I enhanced my understanding of international financial markets. While I enjoy unravelling complex investment topics, I have a real passion for bringing them to life through storytelling and anecdotes.

You may have seen me on CNBC, Bloomberg, and other major news outlets, sharing my insights into financial trends and market movements. My research has been frequently quoted in prestigious financial publications, such as the Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal.

I hold an MSc in Finance (Economic Policy) from SOAS, where I focused my dissertation on the factors influencing a country's ability to return to international capital markets following a sovereign default. I also hold a BSc in International Business, Finance, and Economics from the University of Manchester and I am a CFA charterholder.
